Facilities at Southport College

Our main site in Southport has state-of-the-art facilities, specially designed for each of the subject areas we deliver. With continuous investment we are committed to keeping our facilities up-to-date, with fully equipped studios for courses like photography, design and media, a care equipment room, engineering & motor vehicle workshops and excellent suites for our IT courses.

Many of our courses are vocational and prepare students for the real-life situations they will face. As well as modern classrooms for the theoretical aspects of the course, we take care to provide a learning environment as true to the workplace as possible.

Our workplace environments include fully equipped salons in our hair and beauty department, simulated rooms in our construction areas, laboratories for our forensic science courses and our signature restaurant, Clouds.

Not only are our teaching facilities second to none, the additional resources available to students include an amazing library with Fingerprint recognition to replace the conventional library card, along with thousands of books, periodicals, magazines, CD-ROMs and national newspapers. There are also extensive learning resource centres, with computer suites available on an open access basis.

We pride ourselves on allowing access for all and our facilities are designed or adapted to provide appropriate facilities for disabled users, such as automatic doors, ramps, lifts and toilets.
