Southport College Progression Convention



News item image On Tuesday 16 March 2010 Southport College is hosting the annual Progression Convention; an exciting opportunity for you to find out more about university and a variety of careers.

The event will cover a range of topics from student life to university finance and self-employment to part-time work and voluntary opportunities with over 30 exhibitors offering information and advice from 10.00am to 3.00pm.

The event is suitable for all students, with representatives from ten different universities including the University of Birmingham, Leeds University and University of Huddersfield as well as the more local Edge Hill University, UCLAN and Liverpool John Moores University. Voluntary agencies will also be attending including NSPCC, The National Blood Service and Sefton Resource Centre and there are also many employers both local and national who will be available to talk to about career paths and opportunities.

No matter what your career goal, there is sure to be someone at the event to advise you with representatives from the RAF, Army, Dunes Leisure Centre, NHS, Camp America, London School of Music, Navy, Fire Service, Police, solicitors, Liverpool F.A, Construction Skills, Ground Work ( renewable energy), Mersey Travel, Formby Hall, Barclays Bank and more.

This event is open to students from any college or sixth form, whether part-time, full-time or mature. Train 2000, Sefton @ Work and Connexions 19+ will also be on hand with advice and guidance for anyone looking to get back into education or work.

Just come along to Southport College’s Mornington Road site in Southport town centre between 10.00 am and 3.00 pm on Tuesday 16 March 2010.
