At Southport College, we want to keep you in the picture as much as possible regarding what coming to College involves for your son or daughter. Our full parents’ guide is available to download on this site or you can request a copy from guidance@southport-college.ac.uk.
We have a range of resources to help student’s through their time at College, both with course-related matters and also personal matters. We have a Student Charter, which demonstrates our commitment to students and is available to download in our policies section.
Full-time students are also allocated a Pastoral Tutor to support them throughout their course.
If your son or daughter’s tutors are concerned about their ability to succeed in the course due to poor attendance or missing deadlines, a Case Conference may be arranged under the College’s Maintaining Student Responsibility (MSR) policy. Key members of staff are involved, including a representative from Student Services, and as a parent you would be invited to the conference.
Conduct
We expect all students to behave appropriately, treating staff and other students with respect and consideration. The College does not tolerate bullying in any form. The full MSR procedure is available from Student Services.
Peace of mind
We take the health and safety of our students and their security very serious. Please see our policies section to download a copy of our Health and Safety Policy, as well as other College policies.
We have a network of over 70 CCTV cameras on campus and encourage all of our students to report anything that looks suspicious or dangerous to a member of staff or main reception.
