Try out a course at Open Evening

News item image
Wednesday 6 October is set to be an important day. It could be the day you decide what to do after school.

Deciding on your next step can be tricky. There’s lots to think about and planning for the future is often nerve-wracking.

Here at Southport College, we recommend you get as much information as you can about everything that’s on offer. The ideal place to start is at one of our Open Evenings.

Between 5.15pm and 8.30pm on 6 October, you’ll have the opportunity to find out about all our courses, meet the tutors and even try out a taster activity in one of our workshops.

Tasters are designed to help you make a decision about what you’d like to study after Year 11. They give you the chance to get some hands-on experience in the subjects of your choice, see the fantastic facilities and meet other students who like you, are thinking about coming to College.

Southport College offers a wide range of opportunities, with courses that have been designed to lead you into employment or on to university.

As you reach school leaving age, the decisions you make now may affect your whole future. We’re here to help you plan a pathway to get you where you want to be.

At Open Evenings, both our tutors and Student Services team are on hand to provide you with the information, advice and guidance you may need about Further Education. It’s important to find the right course for you, to discover where it can take you and to get a feel for College life. You’ll have the opportunity to meet current students, go on a tour of the campus and get all your questions answered.

Our Open Evenings are held at our Mornington Road campus. On Wednesday 6 October, we are offering hour long tasters 6.00pm -7.00pm in a variety of different subjects. Places are offered on a first come, first served basis. Individuals or groups can guarantee places by booking now.

Please contact Kathryn Carr, School Liaison Officer on 01704 392741 for more information and to book taster places.

We will also be holding Open Evenings on:
Wednesday 17 November @ 5.15pm – 8.30pm
Tuesday 8 February @ 5.15pm – 8.30pm

Looking forward to seeing you there!
