Fashion Show On 11 Feb...

News item image Your invitation to Southport College’s annual spectacular fashion show…

Southport College will hold its annual Fashion & Performing arts show on Thursday 11 February 2010. There will be two performances: 2pm and 6pm, the doors are open to the public and what’s more, there is no entry charge!

Our first year National Diploma Art & Design students have collaborated with Performing Arts students and our Hair and Beauty Students to create an exciting Fashion Performance Art Show that will captivate your interest and is an excellent opportunity if you are considering studying at the College to see exactly what you might get involved in.

The show is based on the theme ‘She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not’ and features garments made from alternative materials such as paper, plastics and cardboard. It’s set to be a spectacular and vibrant event, interspersed with mini- themes including ‘1950s Rock & Roll’, ‘Sci-Fi’, ‘Wild, Wild West’ and ‘Molls and Mobsters’. Hair and make-up will be styled by the college Hair and Beauty department. It really is a fantastic showcase of student teamwork and talent that will inspire and entertain all ages. Gillian Williams, Course Leader of National Diploma in Art & Design, took time out of planning and organising the show to give a video interview explaining just what goes on behind the scenes- to watch the interview click link on the home page.

Performances begin at 2.00pm & 6.00pm in the Richard Colmer Performing Arts Centre and last approximately 45 minutes. This is a very popular event and places are limited. We would be delighted if you could join us, and to help organise the day would be grateful if you could contact our Schools Liaison Officer Kathryn Carr to reserve your place by calling 01704 392741 or emailing kathryn.carr@southport.ac.uk by the 10 February 2010.
