Southport College is holding a special Diploma advice and taster event for Year 9 pupils on Thursday 4 March between 4 and 6pm.

Deciding what options to take in Year 9 is an important choice. What you choose could impact on what career you’ll have in the future. Through an exciting collaboration with local schools, Southport College is able to offer you the opportunity of selecting a vocational course or diploma to study during Years 10 and 11, along with your GCSEs.

With this in mind, we are hosting an advice and taster event to help you learn more about the exciting Diploma options available to you. As a college, we will be offering the following Diplomas during 2010/11:

Foundation Diploma in Engineering
Higher Diploma in Engineering
Foundation Diploma in Hospitality
Foundation Diploma in Travel and Tourism
Higher Diploma in Public Services
Higher Diploma in Society Health and Development
Foundation Diploma in Hair and Beauty Studies

Staff will be on hand to help you find out more about the subjects you are interested in and you will even be able to try short tasters in the subjects themselves.
