

This course examines the seven sectors: justice, defence, business, central & local government, health, administration & finance and general public sector management. The course will provide you with an insight into the many rewarding careers within these sectors. You will cover the principles and values underpinning all of the different professions. You will also learn how the different services work in unison to develop, maintain and protect society.

Two years, full-time
How will I be assessed?
You will be continuously assessed throughout the course through a combination of internal assignments around case studies. Two units are externally assessed with short written answer papers.
What qualification will I gain?
Advanced Diploma in Public Services
What can I do when I complete the course?
The Diploma provides a valid progression on to further study at Higher Education or a direct route into employment. The Advanced Diploma is suitable if you have a desire to work in any of the following areas: health promotion, police, probation, crown prosecution service, paralegal, fire fighter/ fire fighting manager, local government, community development officer, social worker, youth and community worker, substance misuse worker, public sector accountant.
