VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Hairdressing

Is this course right for me?
This course will take up 2 days per week. One of the days will be spent in College and the other on work placement. It is aimed at able and talented pupils who wish to work in the hairdressing industry. It is expected that pupils will take up further study at level 3 (A-Level equivalent) following successful completion of this course.

What its worth:
138 GCSE points (3 GCSEs A*-C) The hairdressing industry is amazingly diverse and there are many opportunities in terms of career progression and job roles. There is a clear progression path from the Level 2 Certificate to Honours Degrees for motivated and enthusiastic people.

What’s involved?
On your College day you will work in the College salons with real clients, as well as working on the theory based parts of your qualification in the classroom. Some of the units you will study may include:

Work experience
The College works in partnership with Headlines, who have eight salons in Southport and the surrounding area. They are already a provider of apprenticeships and will provide an excellent working environment in which to learn. It is possible for you to arrange your own placement provided that the College is satisfied that it meets the necessary health and safety requirements.
